hobbit-humanist

Humanism, atheism, some politics and lots of common sense.

Stonewalled!

It’s a few days since I did a blog called ‘Sick’ and after that blog I headed to London to meet a friend for a couple of days for a short break that had been planned for a few weeks. We met at a very rainy Euston station and as we couldn’t check in to the hotel until 3pm we hit a nearby bar for a drink and chat. As we sat in a window over looking a bus terminal and I watched bus drive past and recoiled in horror as I caught some of the logo on the side. It all happened so quick and I didn’t really catch all of it but I thought it was the logo I’d mentioned in the ‘Sick’ blog.
I thought the worst, that the fundamentalist christian group had overturned things and got their way, it really was a moment of genuine disbelief.
The next day we walked by the bus terminal again and another bus came past with the logo on, I managed to read it correctly this time and smiled whilst readying my camera. The christians had indeed been thwarted and a message from the Stonewall Charity was proudly displayed on the side of the bus which you can see below. It’s moments like this that make me proud of Britain and the largely open minded society we have.
